Long ago we decided not to try to compete with existing commercially available precious metals products but as we have already filled out many of the metallic elements in the periodic table, the glaring holes of some of the most intriguing and precious of the elemental metals still unfilled are becoming more obvious. We thus decided it was time to offer our customers options to obtain from us some of these other elemental metals such as gold, platinum, palladium, and rhodium. In keeping with our name and motto we'll start with the most rare of these. We are therefore very pleased to announce our plans to offer rhodium bullion both from Baird & Company and from the former Cohen Mint. We've chosen these as they were among the first rhodium products available with Cohen producing the world's first commercially available rhodium coin back in 2009, and both are great products. The Baird Mint product will come sealed in its factory packaging as shown below. The Cohen Mint product will come sealed in the coin capsules as originally issued by the late Eitan Cohen. Rhodium is one of six platinum group metals and along with osmium and iridium are the three rarest stable elements in the earth's crust with rhenium being the fourth. Rhodium is used in jewelry fabrication and as a catalyst in the automotive and chemical industries. The combination of its extreme rarity and important industrial uses, especially in the automotive industry have caused prices to swing wildly over the years, with one such gyration occurring between 2004 and 2008 when the price rocketed from about $500 to $10,000 an ounce. A recent low of about $600 was set in 2016 and it's current price is a bit north of $3000. Who knows where the current rally will take us? Own what's rare!
