Ruthenium (Ru) 24 karat ring

Wedding bands have traditionally been made of gold with 14 karat (or 58.5% pure) being the most common and 18 karat (or 75% pure) also available. Gold is too soft to make a durable ring out of at 24 karat purity (99.9% pure and up). There are many other alternatives to gold which are becoming popular including silver, platinum, palladium, iridium, tungsten, cobalt and stainless steel. The hardness, corrosion resistance, durability, purity, beauty, and price are all factors to be considered. Our first ring was released in iridium in 2015 and rhenium followed in 2016. Both of these rings are incredibly durable and we didn't hesitate to subject them to 6 ft test drops onto a concrete floor and we even subjected our initial iridium ring to the Rockwell Hardness test as we weren't concerned they would fail. We aren't as sure with ruthenium and given the limited release we couldn't bring ourselves to potentially destroy one of these beauties. We do know they aren't near as brittle as we thought they'd be. We didn't have a single one of our initial 12 ruthenium rings chip or break during our shaping or polishing process. We expect with reasonable care they will be adequately durable. We very much doubt they'd break before the finger they are worn on if subjected to undue force. So we suggest you take good care of this ring and take it off before doing heavy work or lifting and it should last a lifetime. If you leave it on while bench pressing 300 pounds, punching a brick wall, or if you drop it on a hard floor from height there are no guarantees it won't break. That's the chance you take to be able to wear a ring made of one of the most rare metals in the universe in such a high purity. Wear it with pride and a bit of caution. Own what's rare!

Our first batch of 24 karat, 99.9% pure ruthenium rings have been cast in various sizes between US sizes 4.75 and 12.75. The inner circumference of our rings are inscribed in a small font with RWMM XXXX - Ru .999 , reflecting our brand, the element symbol, purity (99.9+%) and XXXX is a four digit serial number which is unique for each ring. These rings cannot be re-sized, but as with our other products we will allow up to 30 days for returns in case it doesn't fit or you don't love it for any reason.

Each ring will be shipped with an assay certificate, our custom ring box and with our velvet logo bag. If you are not completely satisfied with any purchase from us, you have 30 days to return it for a full refund (buyer to pay return shipping). Domestic shipping is free for all orders over $99 (enter code free shipping at checkout). For orders of $99 or under, domestic shipping is $9.95. International shipping is via DHL, FedEx, or USPS international express  and costs $45 for this ring. International customers please be aware that your country may levy import duties and/or VAT taxes on your purchase from us. We have nothing to do with this and cannot pay it for you. If you refuse our package because of this extra cost we will take it back and will refund your order in full once received minus the cost of the return shipping.
