We are offering platinum bullion produced by the Austrian Mint in Vienna. These 1/25th troy ounce Austrian Philharmonic coins are of random years of our choosing and will come in our very own RWMM coin flips. Likely known in ancient times as its native form can be found in placer deposits, though potentially mistaken for silver at that time and later referred to as white gold, the discovery of platinum is generally credited to Spaniard Antonio de Ulloa in 1748. With a concentration in the earth's crust of only 0.005 parts per million, platinum is among the rarest of the metals. It is king of the platinum group of metals that also includes iridium, osmium, palladium, rhodium, and ruthenium. Platinum is the most ductile elemental metal and is also extremely corrosion resistant and beautiful with a silvery-white, lustrous finish. It has uses in jewelry, investment bullion issued by government and private mints, electronics, medicine, and perhaps most importantly as a chemical catalyst including in catalytic converters along with palladium and rhodium.
